  • About Kellene

Hello! And welcome to the place where I periodically post my personal musings, opinions, and stands. This is the only legitimate blog for the very real Kellene Bishop. Here are just a few little tidbits about me: 1) I am married to the REAL Prince Charming and as such I do believe that there really is such a thing as happily ever after. 2) I have an absolute passion for the spirit of self-reliance and to be prepared for life's challenges whatever they may be. I don't believe in relying on the government for my own care other than the protection and enforcement of freedom. I believe that a person should first look to their own self for their needs, then their family, and then their faith. (see www.preparednesspro.com) 3) I have a passion for the art of marksmanship and physical self-defense--the real stuff for real scenarios. I believe that every human being has the right and responsibility to protect themselves and their property. I'm particular, I'm passionate about sharing this topic with women of all ages. (see www.womenofcaliber.com) 4) I love, love, love to cook, particularly with my pressure cooker and my solar oven. I love to try and adapt more upscale, gourmet recipes to the use of shelf-stable foods so that if there ever came a time when I couldn't obtain fresh produce and protein, I could still throw a mean dinner party with foods that come in cans. *grin* 5) I love studying the science of alternative health and wellness. I am self-insured and I've never regretted taking that step. I am particular proficient in the selection, use, and constituents found in essential oils. (see www.beyoungeo.com/8285) 6) I have 4 dogs and a cat comprising of 2 toy poodle sisters, and a mother and daughter pair of Yorkshire terriers and a crazy long-haired cat who was nursed for the first couple of months of her life by one of the poodles. Yup, you read that right. Since my husband have been unlucky in the baby department, we dote on our pets and our fabulous nieces and nephews. 7) There are a handful of things in life that I don't like; you know, things like beets, Brussel sprouts, and sauerkraut. But more than anything, I struggle to have compassion for the cowards in life and those who seem wholeheartedly committed to remaining obtuse. 8) I have sung, choreographed, and directed plays professionally. I love the arts. I've also enjoyed professionally teaching ballroom for Fred Astaire Dance Studios. (Needless to say, I LOVE musicals!)
